ABOUT
My name is Catherine Miller. I am a 5th degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do as well as an AFAA Certified Group Fitness and Personal Fitness Trainer. I began training in 1986 in Minnesota with National Karate under the tutelage of Mark Schindler and Grand Masters John Worley and Larry Carnehan. Their martial arts lineage traces back through Grand Master Jhoon Rhee (the Father of American Tae Kwon Do) and J Pat Burleson, a 10th Degree Master from Texas.
I have won Grand Champion at National Tournaments in 3 of my almost 5 decades. And I have trained Grand Champions.
I've been teaching Martial Arts as a profession since 1995. I added to my knowledge by becoming a Group Exercise instructor in 2002 and later on still by becoming a certified Personal Fitness Trainer in 2007. After my second child was born in 2008, I expanded into boxing instruction. Throughout this time I have witnessed the evolution of athletic trends in each area of knowledge that I have instructed. I have also seen the level of interest for these pursuits grow among an increasingly diverse set of enthusiastic students. I've seen fringe fitness endeavors blossom into mainstream phenomena that span all ages and backgrounds. I've also seen individuals make whole careers out of something that began as a peripheral fitness hobby. And then later saw them come full circle with their passion as they transitioned back to a more modest, simple enjoyment of their regimes in order to maintain their health, happiness, and well-being.
Put simply, it's easy for the enjoyment found in studying martial arts and group fitness to last a lifetime however you choose to fit it into your life.
Because YOU are WORTH protecting.
